A 57-year-old Salina man was injured after he lost control of his motorcycle Saturday afternoon.

Undersheriff Roger Soldan tells The Salina Post that Joseph Schaulis was riding his 2014 Harley Davidson wide glide east on Shipton Road at about 3:40 p.m., when another eastbound vehicle pulled halfway into the intersection at Shipton and Wasserman Road, and stopped.

Soldan said Schaulis lost control of his motorcycle when attempted to avoid the vehicle, and rode into a ditch.

Schaulis was thrown off the motorcycle and sustained shoulder and rib injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of those injuries.
