A 28-year-old man with outstanding warrants leads Salina Police on a short chase late Sunday morning.
Captain Chris Trocheck tells The Salina Post that an officer tried to pull Bryant Whidden over in the 200 block of N. Ohio just before 11:30 a.m. because the car he was driving had an illegal tag.
Bryant refused to stop and went north on Ohio, then west on North Street, before losing control of the car on some railroad tracks, causing the car to come to a stop in a grassy area.
Whidden got out of the car and attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly apprehended.
The chase lasted less than a minute and reached a top speed of about 50 mph.
Whidden, who was featured on the June edition of the Salina’s Most Wanted list, was booked into the Saline County Jail on multiple requested charges including flee and elude, interference with a law enforcement officer, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and reckless driving.
