ABILENE — Mary L. Barcus, also known as Mary L. Richter, 81, of Abilene, formerly of Salina, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Village Manor, Abilene. Mary was born April 9, 1935, in Denver.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Village Manor, in care of Ryan Mortuary.

Virginia M. DeLaCruz, 87, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Virginia was born to Jacob and Nellie Younger Meier in Munjor on Nov. 7, 1928.

She was a nurse’s aide at St. John’s Hospital for 30 years, worked for Hallmark Cards, was a member of VFW Women’s Auxiliary No. 1432 and a member and Eucharistic minister of Sacred Heart Cathedral. She loved to crochet, work on puzzles and watch “The Price Is Right.”

She is survived by: her three sons, Gary Riedel, Stan Riedel and Kenneth (Kim) Riedel; daughter, JoAnn Krier; daughter-in-law, Karen Riedel; 11 grandchildren;, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by husband Albert, her parents and her son, Steve Riedel.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, with rosary at 6 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral and sent in care of Ryan Mortuary.

Ingrid Rosa (Ender) Suhr, of Salina, was called to her eternal home Tuesday, June 7, 2016, just one day shy of her 86th birthday. She was born to Martin and Rosalie Ender in Leipzig, Germany, on June 8, 1930, and was the twin to Heinz Ender.

Ingrid grew up in Eastern Germany during World War II. She worked in different textile wholesale companies during this time. It was during the summer of 1949 that she was able to escape the communist rule of East Germany and begin a new life in West Germany. It was on New Year’s Eve when she met the love of her life, Walter. They were married Nov. 27, 1954. In April 1955, the newlyweds boarded the ship the “Italia” and set out to follow their dreams of becoming Americans.

Ingrid was a homemaker, or the title she loved when she heard it, a “domestic engineer.” She also worked outside of the home as a housekeeper and child care provider for many years. She served in the nursery of different Christian women’s groups. A devout Christian, Ingrid was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A loving wife, mother, grandma, oma and tante, she will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Walter; son, Fred (Sara) Suhr, of McAllen Texas; daughters, Shirley (Randy) Rice, of Prosperity S.C., and Jennifer (Shannon) Luthi, of Solomon; grandchildren, Roxanne Suhr, Randi Rice, Ethan, Emily and Evan Thompson, and Tristen and Travis Luthi; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, June 9, with family present from 6-8, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. A celebration of her life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association and are in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church with burial following in St. John’s Cemetery. The Parish Vigil and Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. Monday until the Parish Vigil begins. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Catholic Church, Beloit or Christ the King Catholic Church of Topeka.
