Salina, Kan. – Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS, and Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD, have signed a 2+2 agreement for Emergency Management. It gives FCC students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Emergency Management the option of following a prescribed curriculum track that will allow them to transfer to Kansas Wesleyan and complete a Bachelor of Arts in Emergency Management.
KWU offers the only bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management in the state of Kansas, available completely online or on campus, or in a combination hybrid program.
“One of the key components of managing emergency situations is collaboration. This collaborative partnership between these two Emergency Management programs underscores that concept,” said Dr. Lonnie Booker, Jr., Emergency Management director/assistant professor at KWU. “This agreement makes both Kansas Wesleyan University and Frederick Community College more resilient in the instruction of the growing field of emergency management.”
In addition to the 2+2 agreement, the two schools also signed an articulation agreement to allow Frederick Community College students who are completing an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree to pursue a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree at KWU. These two agreements with Frederick Community College are the first that Kansas Wesleyan University has signed with an institution in the state of Maryland.
“The articulation agreement serves to ease and expedite the process by which students who have earned an associate degree from Frederick Community College may transfer to Kansas Wesleyan,” said Mark Bandré, Vice President of Enrollment Management at KWU. “This applies to both on-campus and online programs at KWU and assures admission and course transfer.”

It’s important to me as an advisor to offer my students the option for a rigorous academic degree that won’t break the bank.”
