The Salina Police Department is investigating several residential burglaries that have occurred over the last week.
Captain Mike Sweeney tells The Salina Post that the first burglary occurred sometime between 8:30 p.m. June 22nd and 11 a.m. June 23rd at 1416 Bachtold. Bryan Hamm said someone removed a 50 GB Microsoft xBox game system, a Microsoft game controller, a charging port, 13 video games, and 32 DVD’s. There were no signs of forced entry. Total loss is listed at $1,440.
Sometime between midnight Saturday and 8:46 a.m. Sunday, someone removed several tools from a residence owned by James Faircloth at 630 Duvall. Taken from the home were several assorted hand tools, a cordless drill, a jigsaw, calipers, wrenchs, and a socket set. There were no signs of forced entry. Total loss is estimated at $3,784.
A Salina woman tells police that she watched as a man and woman removed a 24″ Flatscreen TV and a Kenmore 110 window air conditioner from a residence at 216 S. 3rd, between 7:35 a.m. and 8:11 a.m. Saturday. Sweeney said there is a known suspect in the case. Total loss is estimated at $100.
Sometime between noon June 20th and 11 a.m. Friday, someone broke into a vacant home owned by David Freeland at 816 State. Doors were damaged, holes were left in sheetrock, and cabinets were torn down. Total damage has been estimated at $4,000.
