Salina Crime Report – July 25th

1-16 crime report 2A Salina man reports the theft of a motorcycle. Dillon Reasoner said his 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 5 was taken from the front of his home in the 1500 block of Pueblo, sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. Sunday. The license plate is Kansas 54-DEH. Total loss is estimated at $2,000.

Two teenage Salina girls were caught shoplifting Thursday at the Central Mall, 2259 S. 9th. 14-year-old Danae Renfro and 17-year-old Destany Dirksen were apprehended inside Dillard’s at about 3:20 p.m. by store security. It was discovered the two girls were wearing clothing and shoes taken from other stores in the mall, and had two backpacks containing 103 pieces of stolen merchandise. The two, who were reported as runaways, had allegedly taken items from Rue 21, Famous Footwear, Claire’s, Victoria Secret’s, and Dillard’s. The value placed on the stolen merchandise totaled $1,214. The girls were placed in the regional juvenile detention facility in Junction City on requested charges of felony theft and damage to property.

Salina Police are investigating two similar cases of vehicle damage to property that occurred sometime late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Police were sent to Chuck’s Bar and Grill, 600 N. Santa Fe, just before 1 a.m., where witnesses reported seeing a white male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt breaking the windshield and two windows out of a 2008 Cadillac SRX owned by Chelsey Carter, who lives at 1839 Roach. Total damage was estimated at $800. Officers then took a report at 1839 Roach, where a 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup owned by Garrett Greer of Salina, had the windows broken out sometime between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday. Total damage in that case was also estimated at $800.
