A Salina man was arrested Wednesday morning after he allegedly assaulted and threatened a woman.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester tells The Salina Post that officers were called to a home at 709 E. Ash at about 11 a.m. in response to a domestic dispute between 42-year-old Davey Favors and 32-year-old Samantha Haggard.

The two had been involved in an argument, when Favors allegedly became physically abusive to Haggard, and threatened her with a machete.

Forrester said officers observed some redness to Haggard’s right cheek, but she declined medical treatment.

Favors was arrested and booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of aggravated assault, criminal restraint, and domestic battery.
