A Salina woman is in the Saline County Jail facing possible drug charges.

Saline County Sheriff’s Lt. Michael Ascher said deputies were called to the 100 block of E. 1st in New Cambria just before 9:30 a.m. Saturday, after receiving a report of a woman acting strangely. She had been observed walking around and talking to herself.

Ascher said deputies discovered the woman, 38-year-old Cheryl Pittenger of Salina, was in possession of illegal drugs.

Pittenger was taken to the hospital and then booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
