Salina Police are investigating after someone caused $1,000 worth of damage to a vehicle in a south Salina neighborhood.
Captain Mike Sweeney said a keyhole was damaged on the driver’s door of a 2011 Toyota Corolla owned by 35-year-old Calvin Anderson, while the vehicle was parked at his home in the 1300 block of Derby. The damage rendered the keyhold inoperable.
The gas cap of the vehicle also appeared to have been pryed open and an unknown substance was poured into the gas tank.
Sweeney said a hinge on the driver’s door was also bent, leaving the door unable to be closed.
The damage occurred to the vehicle sometime between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
