Introducing Amber Shelton, your BANK VI Hero of the Week!

Amber was nominated for the outstanding work she does for the community at the Central Kansas Foundation Rehabilition Center.

For the past four years, Amber has served as a residential nurse in the inpatient detox unit and the residential unit. She primarily helps people in active addiction in the social detox facility. She also helps with detox assessments of the facility’s residents. Her efforts are essential in helping residents overcome their addictions and becoming productive in society.

She frequently helps residents that stay at the facility up to 30 days.

Amber also takes part in the Suboxone Program under the direction of Dr. Allred, which deals with the treatment of narcotics addictions. She also participates in the facilities psychiatric program with Dr. Schoyinka.

Those close to her say she has an amazing, understanding heart, that she puts in everything she does. Her nominator said “she deserves to be recognized for all that she tries to do for her community.”
