Salina Labor Day Candidate Forum

LaborDayForumSalina’s first general election candidate forum will start on Labor Day, Monday, September 5th at Ad Astra Books and Coffee with 18 local, state and federal candidates vying for local support.

The Salina Area Workers Coalition (SAWC), a local non-profit volunteer organization leading the event will allocate each candidate four minutes to introduce themselves, tell why they are running for office, and explain how they support worker issues. Following candidate presentations there will be time for questions from the audience.

Prior to the candidate engagement, Mayor Kaye Crawford and County Commission Chair Monte Shadwick will welcome everyone with comments related to support for city and county employees which will be followed by questions.

Salina’s own jazz/R & B Band A.M. will open the evening at 5:30 p.m.

The event will be the fifth annual Labor Day Workers Celebration.
