Salina Charity Horse Show To Benefit BBBS

salinacharityhsSalina KS – The American Saddelbred Association of Kansas will host the 75th Annual Salina Charity Horse Show September 16th, 17th, and 18th in Salina at the Saline County Expo Center’s Agricultural Hall. The show will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Over 100 horses of many breeds will compete in this year’s show. The horses, riders and their families come to Salina from all over the region. “We have entries  from Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas and Iowa this year,” said Yvonne McCarthy, Horse Show Manager, from Derby.

salinacharityhs02The show has been in the same location, Agricultural Hall, for 75 years. Since 2010, the Salina Charity Horse Show has donated over $10,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina to help area children.

Salina native Robin Hammerdinnger has been volunteering with the Salina Charity Horse Show since 1980.  She showed horses in the 80’s and 90’s and has been volunteering ever since. She is the owner of the Shinzenkan Dojo and an advocate of youth mentoring for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Robin’s family has been involved since its inception.
