The following road sections were reopened to through traffic today following completion of work on the asphalt pavements by crews from APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Division:

• Holmes Road from Magnolia Road to Schilling Road received an asphalt overlay.
• Damaged asphalt pavement areas were removed and replaced on Stimmel Road on Halstead Road  immediately east of Halstead Road.

This work was included in Saline County’s Project No. 16-5335: County Wide Hot-Mix Patching, Leveling & Surface Course and Profile Milling. Bids were opened on April 11th. The B.O.C.C. was briefed on the bid outcome on April 19th.

Request for Action for award of contract was then heard and unanimously approved by the B.O.C.C. on April 26th. A contract for $1,756,808.60 was awarded to APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Division.
