UPDATE: The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of a truck injured in a weekend accident has passed away.
Lt. Sean Kochanowski said his agency was notified Wednesday by the Sedgwick County Coroner’s Office that 67-year-old Edwin Anderes died as a result of a combination of his injuries and other health issues.
Anderes was southbound in the 6700 block of S. Solomon Road near Mentor Road just after 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning, when he lost control of his 1999 Ford Ranger.
Deputies say Anderes went off the western edge of the road, swerved over to the eastside of the road and went airborne to into a culvert, coming to rest in the grass.
He was initially transported to Salina Regional Health Center and later transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Anderes died on Wednesday, according to Kochanowski.
