Salina Crime Report – September 23, 2016

CrimeReport2A garage burglary and the theft of money from a coin machine highlight today’s crime report.

Police say someone burglarized a garage at the home of 71-year-old Dennis Hogan sometime between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. Taken from the garage was an iPhone and a 12 pack of Bud Light. There were no signs of forced entry. Total loss has been estimated at $113.

Police are investigating the theft of money from a coin machine at a Salina convenience store. Captain Mike Sweeney said someone broke into the coin machine at the car wash at Kwik Shop, 305 W. Schilling, sometime between 9 p.m. September 17th and 10 a.m. September 18th. $463 worth of quarters were taken from the machine. Damage to the machine has been estimated at about $1,000.
