The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the burglary of a storage container at a rural Saline County property.

Undersheriff Roger Soldan said someone cut a lock to gain entry to the container owned by 30-year-old Matthew Stewart, sometime between 8 p.m. September 19th and 2:15 p.m. Friday. The container was located at 2095 E. Water Well Road, just southeast of Salina.

Taken from the container were several items including a 12-foot trailer with a wood deck, a Traeger Lil Tex smoker, an ESAB mig welder, a remote foot control for the mig welder, a Poulan pole saw, a Hobart welding helmet, a Miller welding jacket, two pairs of Tillman welding gloves, a Porter Cable air compressor, a Victor Journeyman welding tank, an oxygen tank, an acetylene tank, a Chicago angle grinder, a Bosch 12″ compound miter saw, a DeWalt chop saw, a Stihl 16″ chainsaw, a Stihl 12″ chainsaw, a Craftsman 3-ton floor jack, five corded drills, a 9 horsepower Evinrude outboard motor, a Husqvarna string trimmer, a PSE Discovery bow and fishing kit, an AMS fishing reel, a torque wrench with a blue case and a large 4 to 5-foot bolt cutter.

Soldan said the total value of the stolen items has been estimated at $8,245.
