
Oct. 5, 2016 – The topic of Salina Public Library’s next Genealogy Club meeting will be AfricanAmerican Genealogy. Sherri Camp, genealogy librarian at Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, will give the presentation from 6:30 to 9 p.m. October 20th in the library’s Prescott Room.
Camp is a 27-year genealogy veteran. She has a B.A. in history and sociology, a master’s degree in Library Science from Washburn University, and a certificate in genealogy from Brigham Young University. She served the Family History Center for 17 years and has been a Family History Consultant since 2005. Camp is the author of “African-American Topeka” (Arcadia Publishing), the founder and president of the Kansas Chapter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, and the AAHGS national vice president.
Genealogy Club meetings are free and open to the public. No registration is required. Genealogists of all skill levels are welcome.
