NWS Rates Two Saline County Tornadoes

The National Weather Service Office in Wichita has rated two Saline County tornadoes that touched down late Thursday afternoon.

One tornado was rated as an EF 2 with winds up to 112 miles per hour, while the other was rated as an EF 3 with winds up to of 140 miles per hour.

The following are results from a preliminary survey from the National Weather Service:

SURVEY SUMMARY: A barn was demolished and debris was strewn to 
the northeast. There was also damage to a few trees.

SURVEY SUMMARY: A manufactured double wide home held down 
by straps was completely lifted and destroyed. A jeep was 
rolled approximately 200 yards.
