Salina Crime Report – October 17, 2016

crime cuffsA damage to property case and an act of vandalism highlights today’s crime report.

Salina Police say someone completely shattered the window of a door to a laundry room at Hillcrest Apartments, 2140 E. Crawford, sometime early Saturday morning. A tenant of one apartment reporting hearing a loud noise between midnight and 1 a.m. The window was found shattered later than morning. Damage to the window has been estimated at $750.

A restroom at Jerry Ivey Park, 2465 Edward, was the target of vandalism. Police say someone appeared to have started a fire inside a toilet in the men’s restroom on the north side of the park, sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Portions of the lid appeared to have been melted and black charring was found of the top of the toilet. Total damage has been estimated at $500.
