The owner of a demoliton derby car was injured Saturday when she was accidentally ran over.
Undersheriff Roger Soldan said Shelby Crawley, 23, was sitting on the hood of the car with her husband Bradley at the Salina Speedway, 2841 S. Burma Road, just after 9:30 p.m., when the driver started the car.
The the two stepped off the hood of the car and Shelby fell to the ground. As the driver sped off, Shelby’s leg was ran over by one of the car’s tires.
Shelby suffered bruising to her leg. She was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for further evaluation.
The full extent of her injuries was not known as of Monday morning, according to Soldan.
