NORTH NEWTON, Kan. (AP) — Bethel College President Perry White says he will resign at the end of the current school year.

White told the campus about his decision in a message distributed Tuesday. He did not give a reason for leaving after seven years at the college in North Newton.

White said he will work with the board and others to prepare for the transition to a new president.

He became Bethel’s 14th president in July 2010.

The Hutchinson News reports several campus construction projects were completed during White’s presidency, including the opening of the James A. Will Family Academic Center and renovations and improvements to several buildings.
