An Ohio man was hospitalized after an early morning rollover accident on Interstate 70 east of Salina.
Undersheriff Roger Soldan said Marshall Bohlander, 22, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was westbound on I-70 near mile post 263, just west of the Solomon rest area at 3:15 a.m., when he struck a deer, causing him to lose control of his 2004 Mazda Tribute.
The SUV went into a ditch and rolled over.
Soldan said Bohlander’s long hair got caught in the driver’s side window as the vehicle rolled over and partially tore his scalp.
He was transported to Salina Regional Health Center by ambulance for treatment of the injuries to his head.
It is not known if Bohlander was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to Soldan.
