Janet Sue Reynolds, 69, Salina, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday October 20, 2016. She was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Vida Staggs.
Janet worked as a cosmetology instructor most of her life and later owned The Academy of Hair Design until she retired in 2011.
She loved her grandchildren dearly and was a member at Ray Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at Ray Avenue Baptist Church, 2801 East Ray Avenue, Salina, with Pastor John Day officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, near Bridgeport, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, Kansas.

Leona LaFern Dreyer, 77, of Salina, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016. She was born Sept. 30, 1939, on a farm outside Blue Mound to Jr. and Hazel Johnston.
Leona worked various jobs as a hotel auditor, secretary and bus driver in Salina.
She enjoyed her Pepsi and was a supporter of Boy Scouts, guiding her sons and grandsons all to the rank of Eagle Scout.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; two granddaughters; and a brother, Forrest.
She is survived by sons, Doug Dreyer and Jerry Dreyer (Shari); daughter, Janet Thurlow (Mark); five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Edna Stein, Gertrude Harper (Joe) and Joyce Weems (Merle).
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Jimmy Jones, 70, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016. He was born July 23, 1946, in Iola, the son of James and Lorretta (Lee) Jones.
Jimmy served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for 26 years. He also spent many years working at Tony’s Pizza.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two children; and two siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; five children; three brothers; three sisters; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Memorials may be made to Salina Animal Shelter or Hospice of Salina.

Ed Dent, 73, passed away Friday, October 21, in Abilene. He was born June 25, 1943 in Harper, Kansas, the son of George and Esmund (Burns) Dent. Growing up in Harper, Ed attended local schools, graduated from Harper High School and graduated from Kansas State University. He had been employed by the Reflector-Chronicle and Great Plains Manufacturing in Abilene. On June 21, 1976 he married Darlene Doss. All of their married life was spent in Abilene. She preceded him in death February 7, 1980. Ed was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by: a daughter, Jennie Dent of Fenton, Missouri; a sister, Pam Cooney of Oregon; three brothers, Larry Dent of Maize, Kansas, Mike Dent of Anthony, Kansas and Jim Dent of Oregon.
The family has chosen cremation. No services are planned. Danner Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Jeralyn M. Merritt, 73, of Linn, KS, and formerly of Hays, KS, died October 22, 2016 at the Linn Nursing Home.
Visitation will be Monday, October 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Linn. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25 at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Rev. David Gruoner will officiate. Eunice Beier will play the organ while the congregation sings “What a Friend We Have In Jesus”, “The Lamb”, and “How Great Thou Art”.
The pallbearers will be Nate Merritt, Blake Merritt, Jordan Merritt, Shayne Albert, Dalton Ganoung, and Jayce Ganoung.
Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Jeralyn was born April 19, 1943 at Clay Center, KS, daughter of Ervin and Martha (Peters) Boerger. She attended Zion Lutheran School and in 1961 graduated from Linn High School.
On July 28, 1961 she married Richard Merritt at Zion Lutheran Church. In 1973, they moved to Hays where she was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. In 1999, she returned to Linn.
Jeralyn enjoyed babysitting, delivering Meals on Wheels, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, cooking, playing the organ, and mowing the lawn.
Survivors include her children, Vicki (Mike) Jones, Plainville, KS, Gary Merritt, Lincoln, NE, Keith Merritt, Colorado Springs, CO, Scott (Amber) Merritt, Omaha, NE, and Karen (Sherwin) Pestka, Meridian, ID; husband, Richard; sister, Shirley (Don) Winter, Linn; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
