A Geneseo man is in the Saline County Jail facing charges in connection with allegedly striking another woman’s vehicle.
Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney said a woman’s in her 20’s was driving her Ford Fusion in east on Republic near 4th Street just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, when she observed a green 2000 Lincoln Town Car driven by 33-year-old Jarrod Clark, closely following her.
The woman drove north on 4th Street and then turned on east on Wilson and was then struck from behind by the Town Car. She continued to drive and was struck two more times. After she was struck the third time, the Town Car veered into a yard. The woman then drove to the Salina Police station to report what had happened.
Sweeney said officers were sent to the 300 block of E. Wilson a short time later after receiving a report of the Town Car being found up against a tree.
Clark was found moments later walking in the 400 block of E. Wilson and he was taken into custody.
The woman’s vehicle sustained $3,000 worth of damage including a broken rear bumper and a twisted trunk lid.
Clark was booked into jail on multiple requested charges including driving under the influence, aggravated battery and felony damage to property, according to Sweeney.
