Two Salina teens were injured in a weekend crash southeast of Salina late Saturday evening.

Undersheriff Roger Soldan said Kaleigh Jackson, 17, was driving a 2002 Ford Escape south on Simpson Road just after 9 p.m., when the vehicle slipped off the west edge of the road about 195 feet north of Water Well Road.

Jackson attempted to pull the vehicle back onto the roadway and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to partially overturn. It came to rest on the passenger’s side on the east side of the road.

simpsonroadwreck_01Soldan said Jackson was taken to Salina Regional Health Center by personal vehicle for treatment of a possible concussion.

A passenger in the vehicle, Kaden Moresco, 16, was treated for leg pain.

Both were properly restrained at the time of the crash, according to Soldan.
