SHAWNEE COUNTY – A Salina man was injured in an accident just after 2 a.m. on Tuesday in Shawnee County.

The Kansas Turnpike Authority reported a 2017 Hyundai passenger vehicle driven by Larry J. Hartman, 59, Salina, was eastbound on Interstate 70, three miles east of the Topeka toll plaza.

The vehicle hit a deer.

Hartman was transported to a hospital.

He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KTA.
