The Kansas City Chiefs (5-2) will be without their leading rusher for Sunday’s week 9 game with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Running back Spencer Ware has been declared out for this week after sustaining a concussion against Indianapolis last Sunday. Ware leads the team in rushing with 511 yards and 2 touchdowns and also has 313 yards receiving with a touchdown.
The Chiefs will also be playing without Quarterback Alex Smith who was also injured in Indy. Smith reportedly passed concussion testing during the game, but decided it was best that he take a week off. Nick Foles will start for the Chiefs this week. Against Indianapolis, Foles went 16 for 22 with 223 yards and 2 touchdowns while filling in for Smith.
Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin also missed Friday’s practice with a sore groin muscle. His status for Sunday’s game has not been decided.
Kansas City will host Jacksonville on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium where the Chiefs currently hold a 9 game winning streak. Listen to the pregame show with the Chiefs Radio Network at 11:00 Sunday morning on 99.9 FM and 910 AM.
