The Kansas City Chiefs will get Alex Smith back for a road trip to Carolina after taking a week off. Head Coach Andy Reid held Smith out of the Jacksonville game yesterday as a precaution. Smith was pulled from the Indianapolis game on 10/30 twice for concussion like symptoms. However, both the Chiefs and Smith said the quarterback never suffered a concussion. Smith was cleared by independent doctors for the game yesterday, but Coach Andy Reid wanted to be cautious. Backup Nick Foles quarterbacked the Chiefs to a 19-14 victory against the Jaguars on Sunday.
Linebacker Justin Houston will be activated off the physically unable to perform list this week, making him eligible to play for the first time since having surgery in February to repair a balky ACL in his left knee. Houston has been practicing with the Chiefs for the last three weeks.
