sco61101Zelma M. Scott, 93, of Salina, died peacefully, November 1, 2016. Zelma is survived by her loving sons, David (Deborah) of Overland Park, KS and Jim (Wendy) of Edmond, OK. Zelma was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill and sisters, Geneva Paluka, Teresa Siebert, Maxine Alexander, Helen Dunn and brothers, Wilcid and Cleo Breault.

Zelma was born on February 23, 1923 in Ames, KS to Hector and Rose Breault. She worked most of her life in retail sales at Consolidated Printing and Hallmark card stores in Salina.

Zelma loved being Grandma to her seven grandchildren, Michael Scott, Christy Bishop (Bryon), Sarah Munsey (David), Ryan Scott (Lindsay), Kelly Scott, Garret Scott (Nicole), and Caitlin Scott; and her eight great-grandchildren, Brayden and Brynlee Bishop, Emerson and Greyson Munsey, Jack and McCoy Scott and twins, Kaya and Bennett Scott.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Lane, Salina. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016, also at the church, with Father Keith Weber officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the church or Brookdale Hospice at 5401 College Blvd, Suite 112, Overland Park, KS, 66211.

Vennie Sue LeDuc, age 57, Concordia resident, died, Wednesday, November 9 2016 at her residence in Concordia. She was born March 23, 1959 in Washington, Kansas to James Dean and Aleana Francis (Alcorn) Woods.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Eric and James Steven LeDuc of Concordia; 2 brothers, Mike Woods (Lisa), Concordia, Jimmy Woods (Vicki), Alexandria, TN., and 3 grandchildren, Madison Hamilton, Sophie and Aiden LeDuc.
Vennie was preceded in death by her, parents.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later time in Alexandria, Tennessee.

4002433_wlppEmeline Geneva Sulanka, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Thurs., November 10, 2016 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS. She was born on July 28, 1927 in Concordia, Kansas to Leonard Joseph and Alexina Esther (Dumas) Gardner.
She was a 1944 graduate of Miltonvale High School. She married Lewis (Dick) R. Sulanka on December 1, 1945 in Concordia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1993.
Emeline taught elementary education in a one room school house. She was a teller for Cloud County Bank, She also worked as a receptionist/secretary for KPL Gas Company and later Boogaarts Scrivner for several years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church; Altar Society and St. Ann’s Sodality.
Emeline is survived by 3 children, Sandra Donovan, Salina, KS.; Debra Coleman (Max), Miltonvale, KS.; Vickie Arpin (Lee), Salina, KS.; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; 3 sons, Larry Lee, Greg & Richard Sulanka, one granddaughter, Stephanie Sulanka, a brother, Delmar Gardner, son-in-law, Mike Donovan, daughter-in-law, Peg Sulanka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 14, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. David Metz officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Aurora.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. A Vigil Service followed by an Altar Society Rosary will be held 6:00 pm, Sunday evening, Nov. 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia. Family will receive friends after the Vigil/Rosary service.
The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.

4002551_wlppHelen Kurz, 95 years died November 9, 2016 at in , KS. She was born on November 22, 1920 in Delphos, KS, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Lynch) Letourneau. Tommy was raised in the Delphos and Idana communities. She married Karlton Kurz on August 1, 1942. They moved to Clay Center in 1986. Karlton preceded her in death on November 19, 1991. Tommy was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, catholic Women’s Organization and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Russell, sisters, Julia Chartier and Lenora Bartek and brother Leo Letourneau.

Irene Marie Farley, 85, of Lindsborg, passed away November 9, 2016.

She was born February 24, 1931, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude (Grant) Eisenhauer in Solomon, KS.

Irene was united in marriage on October 12, 1951, to Daniel Ray Farley. He passed away in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and two sisters.

Irene is survived by her children: Mark Farley (Stephanie) of San Diego, CA, Mike Farley of Lawrence, KS, Matt Farley (Jill) of Stillwater, OK, and Kathy Farley (Bill Daggett) of Lindsborg, brother, Ray Eisenhauer of Solomon, KS, sister, Evelyn Nelson (Harold) of McPherson, KS, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 26, at 10:00 am at Christians Funeral Home Chapel, Lindsborg. Private family burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.
