A Large crowd gathered on a cool windy morning Friday at the War Memorial in Salina’s Sunset Park for the annual Veterans Day Program. The guest speaker was Salina Mayor Kaye Crawford. Crawford said the day is to remember those who have served, and to remember those who did not come home. The mayor said ” Nothing can fill the hole left behind by a fallen service member, nor comfort the ones left behind.” “Today we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, so we can live in freedom.”
Salina Area Technical College also held a ceremony and brunch at the college to honor current duty members of the military and Veterans.
