policechaseA Concordia man was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of a broken nose after a brief chase late Sunday afternoon.

Police Captain said an officer wanted to stop a car driven by 33-year-old Jacob Deckert in the 600 block of E. Iron for speeding. When the officer turned around Deckert took off in his 1997 Buick Regal and a brief chase ended in an alley between Iron and Gypsum Ave when the car hit a pole and parked SUV.

Deckert crawled out the window of the car and ran from the Scene but was apprehended by an officer on Penn Ave. Several traffic charges are expected to be requested when Deckert is booked into jail. He was kept in the hospital Sunday evening for observation.
