Sharon K. Downing, 75, of Salina, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at Salina Regional Health Center. She was born July 28, 1941, to David and Nadine Short.She is survived by: her children, David and Annie Hutson, of Salina, and LeAnna and Kevin Moos, of Ilwaco, Wash.; partner, Don Walker of Salina; grandchildren, Jeffery Corum, Ryan Moos and Justin Moos; and sister from the heart, Guyla Burk- holder, of Culver. Sharon will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Allen Short.
Cremation has been chosen. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.

Ralph “Jim” Irving Carson, 62, of Minneapolis, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 30, at Salina Regional Health Center.
Ralph was born in Salina, Kansas on April 7, 1954, a son of the late Donna L. (Shelton) and Jimmie Kent Carson.
He worked as an Inventory Control Supervisor at Great Bend Manufacturing and was a Machinist at Great Plains Manufacturing.
On April 21, 1973, Jim married Peggy Coleen Belden in Salina.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy of the home, daughter, Tamiko “Tami” Schroeder, of Bison, Kansas; sisters, Donna Brehm and husband Mike of Lubbock, Texas, Cindy Carson, of Hays, Kansas; brother, David Carson and wife, Debra of Lake Stevens, Washington. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Megan Schroeder, Trace Schroeder.
He is preceded in death by sister, Betty Sayers.
At the family’s request there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Highland Cemetery, New Cambria, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help with funeral expenses in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401.
Lewis W. “Bill” “Shorty” Myers, 84, of Salina and formerly of Brookville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016. He was born April 20, 1932, in Frankfort, the son of Lafayette and Georgia (Osborne) Myers.Bill worked for the CK Ranch as a cattleman for 15 years. He later worked for Beech Aircraft and retired after 27 years. Bill loved his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and baking homemade bread.
Survivors include Rose, his wife of 61 years; son, Terry Myers (Pam); daughter, Mary Ann (Steve) Myers-Bulatkin (Steve); brother, Leo Myers; sisters, Thelma Deahl, Joan Raye (Chuck) and Lois Chism (Bob); five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends starting at 9 a.m. Saturday Dec. 3, until service time at 10 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery in Tescott following the luncheon.

Merelyn was born on June 10, 1932 in Randolph, Kansas, the son of Walter and Evelyn (Parsons) Ruthstrom. Merelyn married Ava Schooley on October 16, 1955. He worked for Siebold motor Company until 1993 and then he worked for C&N Auto repair until his retirement in 1994. Merelyn then worked part time for Short Stop. He is preceded in death by his parents.
