A schedule revision has been released by Champions Indoor Football after two teams dropped off the original schedule. Teams in Chicago and St. Louis were set to be a part of the upcoming season, but now both teams have been dropped from the league for undisclosed reasons.
According to the Chicago Facebook page, the team will be dormant this year. “The Chicago Eagles are in the process of restructuring our company so that we can return to effective game play in 2018.”
The River City Raiders (St. Louis, Mo.) was also omitted from the new schedule. The Raiders website is still claiming affiliation with the CIF and the team has had no Facebook activity since November 24th.
With the subtraction of the two teams, the CIF will move to a North Division and a South Division. Both divisions will consist of 7 teams each. The Salina Liberty will play in the North Division and will open play for the 2017 season on Sunday, March 5th versus the Wichita Force at the Salina Bicentennial Center. Tickets are available by visiting the Bicentennial Center website HERE.
