Dangerous wind chills and light snow Saturday

An arctic surge of very cold air will move south across the region on Saturday. Wind chill values by Saturday night will fall into the minus 10 to minus 15 range. Low temperatures Saturday night are expected to range from minus 2 in Central Kansas to the single digits in Southern Kansas. Light snow is possible during the daylight hours on Saturday with most locations seeing accumulation amounts around 1 inch.

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 33. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 26. South southeast wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Friday: Patchy drizzle or freezing drizzle before 10am, then patchy drizzle between 10am and 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 46. South southeast wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. Blustery, with an east wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north northwest 17 to 22 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph.

Saturday: A chance of snow and freezing drizzle between 7am and 8am, then a chance of snow after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 16. Blustery, with a north northwest wind 22 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around -1. Blustery.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 18.

Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 6.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 32.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 14.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 41.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 21.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44
