Melvin E. Hart

Melvin E. Hart, 93, of Barnard, Kansas went to be with his lord and savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 26, 2018, just 8 days before his 94th birthday. He was born on the family farm near Barnard on August 3, 1924 to Willard and Clara (Stafford) Hart.

On July 12, 1944 Melvin was united in marriage with Melba Darlene Wolting in Wichita, Kansas. Melvin operated the family farm, and also owned and operated many other businesses in and around the Barnard area.

Melvin was a charter member of the Barnard Lions Club and was an active member for more than 60 years.

Survivors include a sister, Clemma Stone of Arkansas City, Kansas; two daughters, Linda Blanding (Terry) of Greely, Colorado, and Lila Hula (John) of Blue Rapids, Kansas; two sons, Leon Hart of Barnard, Kansas, and Cary Hart (Cheryl) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Willard; his wife, Melba; a daughter, Karen Slater; and a granddaughter, Kala Walters.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 6th at the funeral home.
