Gladys Elizabeth (Hammill) Freeman, 83, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at Salina Regional Medical Center. Gladys was born June 30, 1935, in Ellsworth, to Charles W. Hammill and Regina Schmidt Hammill.
She graduated from Marquette High School in 1953. She married Don Rex Brown and had four children: Stephen, Debra, Craig and Tom. In 1967 she married James Robert Freeman, who survives. Gladys worked at Westinghouse-Philips Lighting in Salina before her retirement.
She is survived by: her husband; sisters, Helen Bybee, and Nadine Bishop; brother, Bill Hammill; daughter, Debra Sloan (Bill); sons, Craig Brown (Jodi), Tom Brown (Judi); stepchildren, Terri Skogebo and Troy Freeman; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Proceeding her in death were: her parents; brother, Keith Hammill; sister, Ione Hammill Miller; and son, Stephen.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Ellsworth Cemetery. Ryan’s Mortuary, Salina, is handling the arrangements.
