
The classical four elements, Earth, Air, Fire and Water are the inspiration for the next exhibit at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Harley Elliott, Ruth Moritz, and Karla Prickett of Salina and Wendy Tan of Hays bring their unique perspective and interpretation to the exhibit, “Four Elements.”
The exhibit is scheduled for Tuesday through February 28 in The Gallery. The Gallery is located in Sams Hall of Fine Arts at KWU, 100 E. Claflin.
The Gallery is open from 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends by appointment.

A exhibit reception is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. February 1 in The Gallery. The artists will be present at the reception to discuss their work. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Elliott has been an art teacher at Marymount College, a staff member at the Salina Art Center, and a book designer for Syracuse University Press, designing covers for poetry books and magazines.
Moritz is an installation and graphic artist, writer, and educator, and currently is an instructor of English at KWU. Moritz combines assemblage, text, photography and painting in her installation work.

Prickett retired as Visual Arts Director with Salina Arts and Humanities having directed the art shows and installations in the Smoky Hill River Festival as well as the city’s Public Art Program as Project Coordinator. Prickett is currently a visual arts consultant and studio artist who works in mixed media.
Tan is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics at Fort Hays State University after completing her bachelor’s degree at RMIT University, Australia. Tan’s ceramic work focuses on the hidden beauty of nature.
