Viola E. Miller, 99, Minneapolis, died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at The Oxford Grand in Wichita where she resided for the past four years. She was born August 29, 1919 in Lucas to John and Ola (Tunks) Ammons.
Viola was a graduate of Culver High School and she attended Emporia State where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in a one room schoolhouse near Minneapolis. On August 11, 1940, she was united in marriage with Elwood Miller. They made their home west of Minneapolis where they farmed and raised their children.
Viola was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood; siblings, Eldon and Irvan; and granddaughter, RanDee.
Survivors are her children, Sheryl Wohlford (Doug) and son, Larry (Marisol) all of Wichita; granddaughter, IsaBella Miller; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 16 at the First Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis Public Library or Serenity Hospice, Wichita.
