A Salina man was arrested after his vehicle rolled in an alleged hit and run accident late Friday.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Monday that police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Brittany Street at 11:20 p.m. Friday for the report of a motor vehicle accident.

According to Forrester, a silver 2018 Nissan Kicks driven by Matthew Levin, 33, of Salina, rolled and came to rest on the driver’s side after it hit a 2009 Ford Taurus that was parked in the 1400 block of Brittany Street. A witness helped Levin out of the vehicle and Levin then fled on foot, Forrester said.

Levin was located walking in the 1400 block of East Schilling Road, Forrester said. Levin had injuries consistent with being in a vehicle accident and was wearing the same clothing described by the witness, he added.

Forrester said Levin was arrested on suspicion of the following.

• Felony driving under the influence
• Driving while suspended
• Duty upon striking an unattended vehicle
• Driving on roadways laned for traffic

The Nissan had damage to the front end and driver’s side and was towed, Forrester said. The Ford had front end driver side damage, he said.
