LAWRENCE, Kan. – Former Kansas shooting guard Christalah Lyons has signed a professional contract to play for Olimpia CSU Brasov in Romania this upcoming season.
Lyons, named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2018 and 2019, contributed two successful seasons at Trinity Valley Community College before finishing her basketball career at Kansas. Though her time as a Jayhawk was short, Lyons made quite an impression on the program.
“Christalah had an outstanding career here at Kansas,” head coach Brandon Schneider said. “She was a terrific ambassador for the university and our basketball program.”
In the 2018-2019 season, Lyons led the team with a game-average of 14.8 points and was one of two Jayhawks to start all 31 games on the year. Prior to that, Lyons was the only Kansas player to score over 400 points on the 2017-2018 season.
Her two years at Trinity Valley Community College landed her a Top-5 national ranking at her position and ranked No. 11 overall on the 2016-2017 season.
“We are all really excited to see her get an opportunity to continue her career as a professional,” Coach Schneider added. “She will do great and will be a tremendous asset to her new organization.”
