CHAPMAN — If you live near Chapman and felt a slight shaking early Monday morning, it wasn’t a dream.

A small earthquake struck north of Chapman early this morning, slightly more than five miles northwest of a temblor that struck in Geary County a few days before.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.1 magitude quake struck about five miles north of Chapman at 4:56 a.m. Monday.

The Geary County earthquake (2.3 magnitude) was centered just north of Interstate 70 about a mile east of the Dickinson County line and struck at 6:36 p.m. Saturday, the KGS reported.
