UPDATE: The flash flood watch has been canceled.

 

It looks to be a wet and cooler day for much of the area.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), several counties in our area remain under a flash flood watch until Wednesday evening, including the following.

• Dickinson County
• Ellsworth County
• Marion County
• McPherson County
• Saline County

Scattered thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected during the day, NWS noted. Localized flooding is possible.

Rapid rises of rivers, streams, and low water crossings could occur. Urbanized and poor drainage areas could be particularly impacted by floodwaters. Flash flooding is likely on roads and highways.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Remember to turn around, don`t drown.
