While it may only be the beginning of October, the local Salvation Army is already making preparations for the holiday season.

Applications are now being taken for bell ringers. Application forms may be picked up at the Salvation Army, 1137 N. Santa Fe.

The Salvation Army plans to place collection kettles throughout the community from Nov. 16 until Dec. 24.
