Camaro damaged while parked downtown

Police are investigating a case in which a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro was damaged Thursday night while it was parked in downtown Salina.

The Camaro was parked in the 200 block of South Santa Fe while its owner, a 47-year-old Salina woman, was attending a concert in the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Friday. Sometime between 7:30-10 p.m., someone scratched the top of the vehicle and dented the bottom middle of the passenger door, Forrester said. The dent was consistent with someone kicking the door, he added.

Forrester said police are checking with businesses in the area for surveillance video.

Damage to the car was estimated at $5,000, he said.
