NWS issues freeze warning for five counties in our area

A freeze warning for tonight includes counties in our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning in effect from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for the following counties in our area.

Clay County
Cloud County
Dickinson County
Ottawa County
Republic County

Temperatures are expected to drop to between 29 and 32 degrees Friday night. Freezing temperatures could kill outdoor plants, sensitive vegetation and crops.

For Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, and Saline counties, NWS noted temperatures will again be near freezing over much of the area for tonight.

For Mitchell and Jewell counties, NWS has forecast temperatures in the mid to upper-20s overnight.
