Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred in north Salina Friday night.

According to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester, a male subject dressed in a black shirt, pants, and mask entered the Five Corner Gas and Food store at 848 North Broadway Boulevard, at 9 p.m. on Friday. He jumped over the counter and pointed an unknown brand of handgun at the 31-year-old male employee, Forrester said.

The subject grabbed a box with an unknown amount of cash from under the register and fled south on foot down the alley on the west side of the business, Forrester said.

Police were waiting on surveillance video from the store and hoped to get that Monday, Forrester said. Police also are attempting to locate a female customer who was in the store at the time of the alleged incident, he added.
