Two people were injured Friday morning in an accident in south Salina.

A 2013 Lincoln MKX driven by Tiffany Modlin-Macey, 53, of Salina was eastbound on Schilling Road and stopped at the stop sign at South Ohio Street, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Monday. The Lincoln entered the intersection and was struck by a southbound 2002 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Iris Thomason, 66, of Salina, he said. The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. Friday, he added.

Modlin-Macey complained of back pain, but refused EMS treatment, while Thomason complained of pain in her neck, shoulder, chest, left knee, and right ankle and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, Forrester said. Thomason had bruising and possible broken ribs, he added.

Both vehicles sustained front end damage and had to be towed, Forrester said.

Modlin-Macey was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way and no proof of insurance, he said.
