A car stolen Friday night from north Salina was recovered on the opposite side of town several hours later.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said a 52-year-old Salina man had lent his 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse to his 21-year-old daughter who drove it to the 700 block of North Ohio to visit some friends Friday evening. The daughter last saw the car at 10 p.m. and when she attempted to leave at 11:20 p.m., the car was missing, he said.

At 2:30 a.m. Saturday, friends notified the daughter that the car was in the 1400 block of Oak Street. The car was not damaged and was recovered, however, the key fob remains missing, Forrester said. The daughter had not left the keys in the car, he added.

Police are pursuing a lead on a possible suspect, Forrester said.
