Richard “Stubs” Soden, 78, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019. He was born in Sabetha, Feb. 20, 1941 to Howard and Dorothy (Penrod) Soden.

Richard joined the U.S. Army in 1959 and was stationed in Toul, France with the THC 574th Trucking Company. After the military, spreading his wings doing several things, he was proud to be a member of the Kansas Patriot Guard, American Legion Riders, and ABATE of Kansas. Richard loved riding, racing, camping, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by: his wife, Marilyn; children, Garett Soden, D.D. Hale, and Shelby Soden; stepson, Ryan Brunner; brothers, Gordon Soden and Jack Soden; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Monday Nov. 4, 2019 at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Ryan Mortuary, with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Downs Cemetery, Downs, Kan. Memorials to the donor’s choice.
