Phyllis L. Larson

Phyllis L. Larson was born on March 7, 1934, in rural southern Cloud County, Kansas, to Harry E. and Ellen M. (Nichols) Forshee. She passed away on October 31, 2019, at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville, at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 24 days.

Phyllis was one of ten children, growing up and attended schools in rural Cloud County. She married Glenn D. Larson on June 21, 1953, and to this marriage of 31 years, three boys were born, Keith, Kenneth and Kevin.

Phyllis started her working career at varied jobs, and then worked at M-C Industries/Precisions Dynamics in Belleville for 23 years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed working in her yard, mowing the lawn and growing flowers. Phyllis enjoyed music, and had a perfect singing pitch; she could even yodel!

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn in 1985; sisters Marie Forshee, Thelma Forshee, LaVona Marry and Marguerite Thorpe, and brother Harry Lee Forshee.

Phyllis will forever be remembered by her sons; Keith Larson of Munden, Kenneth Larson and his wife Mary of Augusta, Kansas, and Kevin Larson of Belleville. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Levi Larson of Wentzville, MO; Cody Larson and his wife Stacey of Wentzville, MO; Ian Larson and his wife Elisa of Lenexa, KS; Will Larson of Belleville and Kimberly Larson of Belleville, and her great-granddaughter, Lauren Larson. Phyllis is also survived by her brother, Carl “Billy” Forshee, sisters Neva Demanette, Audrey Elyea and her husband Fred, Norine Koester and her husband Loren, and sister-in-law Shirley Forshee.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019, from 1:00pm to 9:00pm at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, where family will greet friends from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, with burial following at the Belleville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to Meadowlark Hospice, which can be sent in care of the funeral home.

Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, assisted the Larson family with these arrangements.
